Born in 1882, Marta Wittkowska was a Polish-American contralto opera singer popular during the early 20th century.
If you are unfamiliar with contralto singing, it is a classical female singing voice whose vocal range is the lowest voice type.
She was born in the city of Danzig (present-day Gdańsk) Poland, and grew up since 8 years old in Syracuse New York, after her parents moved there.
